This IWC Mark Xi is a really early one and one that would complement almost any collection. It’s in exceptional condition for an early 1940’s tool watch for the British Military.

Large clear hour markers for obvious reason on a matt black dial. Manual wind legendary Cal.89 movement. 36mm stainless steel case on a textile Nato style strap.

Markings 6B/346 to the rear of the case with 718/48 under which tells us this is an early version from 1948.

Finally, it is worth noting the lack of the ‘T’ on the centre of the dial, this effectively tells us that the MOD have not relumed the dial to take out the old harmful radium to replace with tritium. It makes this watch that little bit rarer and that little bit more special to know the dial and the hands are original and have not been relumed at a later stage as was common.
