This very special Submariner model is from 1973 and one of the very rarest dial configurations from the 1680 model range. A welcome addition to our stock, read on to find out why.
We were fortunate enough to purchase this watch from the original owner, how do we know that? It’s the same person we brought from that has their named lightly engraved on the rear of the case (can be polished out if required, although we think best left alone).
The watch was a gift for a 21st birthday back in 1975 and has remained with the same owner ever since, regular Rolex Service’s over the first decade or so its been pretty much left original since then and we have no plans to do anything to it other than a service and a light polish of that original Plexiglass.

In fact this watch also has another quirky aspect to it, scroll through the images to see that on the inside of the bracelet there is a well known amongst collectors error that Rolex soon rectified, believe it or not that actually spelt misspelt ‘patented’ instead stamping the inside of the clasp ‘Pateted’.
40mm stainless steel case, Plexiglass. Bracelet to fit a wrist to 19cm. This automatic watch operates from a 1570 Caliber movement which provides a power reserve of up to 48 hours.
