Omega Seamaster Cosmic 166.137 | 39mm | Early 1970s | Automatic Cal. 1010
This is an original Omega Seamaster Cosmic Ref. 166.137 from the early 1970s, presented in excellent all-round condition. With its distinctive modular case design, this reference was created for durability in pressurised environments and remains a fascinating dive-inspired watch from Omega’s heritage.
The 39mm stainless steel case is fitted with a rotating bezel featuring its original black insert — remarkably well preserved given its 50+ years of age, showing only light wear with no major chips or dents.
The dial and hands are completely original, displaying an attractive natural patina that enhances its vintage character. Importantly, there are no signs of moisture damage, and the lume still functions. An Omega-signed crown completes the case.
At its heart beats the legendary Omega Calibre 1010 automatic movement, running at approximately –10 seconds per day. While we pressure-tested the watch to 30m, it was originally designed for 60m water resistance, reflecting Omega’s engineering excellence of the period.
